McDonald’s, the famous offline and online food store, and the best place to order food online is all set to serve Szechuan Sauce in all its restaurants in the U.S from February 26, 2018. McDonald's is one of the best online food ordering companies that receive a huge number of orders online. Earlier, McDonald’s released a limited edition of Szechuan Teriyaki Dipping Sauce that was a copy of the traditional and famous Chinese Szechuan Sauce for promotional reasons. It was served with McDonald’s fast-selling Happy Meal chicken McNuggets. After the promotion, the restaurant stopped serving the sauce to its customers.
Szechuan Sauce in the famous Science Fiction Series Rick and Morty
In the episode telecasted on April, 1st 2017, the main character, Rick of the famous dark comedy series Rick and Morty go to McDonald’s within his remembrance to experience the awesomeness of the famous Szechuan sauce for at least one time.
The unexpected nature of this episode led to a lot of discussion on social media about the Szechuan Sauce. Fans demanded that McDonald’s introduced Szechuan sauce in their menu. The repeated mention of this sauce triggered the idea to bring it live.
The surprise letter and bottle
On June 29th, 2017, the creator of Rick and Morty (Justin Roiland) and the voice-over artist of the title characters received a four-pound bottle of Szechuan sauce along with a humorous letter. Later, on October 1st, 2017, the famous fast food joint, confirmed the comeback of sauce for a single day in U.S. Restaurants. On October 7th, 2017, the restaurant received a prompt response.
Long queues and long wait time left a lot of fans disappointed as McDonald’s did not have sufficient amount of sauce to meet the demand. The restaurant supplied only few sauce packets at selected restaurants in the U.S.
